    Posting rules:
San Diego's special-event guidelines say no-parking signs go up 72 hours before the event starts, including set-up.
Those guidelines say A-frame signs go at least every 20 feet, show the tow-away times, day and date, event name and phone number, and SDPD's number 619-531-2844, and are not pasted over other signs.
Vehicle Code sections 22651(l) and 22651(m) allow removal for cleaning, repair, construction, or another authorized street use only if the signs were up at least 24 hours before the tow. That is a towing rule. This app does not decide a citation.
San Diego Municipal Code section 86.0109 says temporary no-parking signs are placed at least 24 hours before a vehicle is removed. The citation fine schedule lists code 81.09(A)3 for violation of a temporary no-parking tow-away sign.
